4th gen door panels in a 2nd gen f body

Whats up every one. I have a chance to get a pair of 4th gen Trans am door panels and I was thinking of making them fit my 73 trans am. Does anyone know if I can reuse the pwr lock and pwr window switches that are on the 4th gen arm rest. Oh and how hard will it be to make them fit the my doors. thanks

      Door Panels

They are close, but not the same, I just used 4th gen trans am panels on my 1978 Trans Am, but I ended up only getting to use the speaker pods and arm rests and building panels around them. They look like 4th gen panels, but are actually custom built.

Installing the 4th gen trans am speaker pod and arm rest was the exact same thing I was eventually thinking of doing in my car to match my 4th gen dash and interior. Like they said. The panels will not fit but the other stuff will with a little modifying.
I like how Reiner notched his arm rest for the roll bar.

If you want to get real creative. We used the doorpanels, switches, along with a 4th gen door harness, and pass key module, now our Camaro has factory keyless entry. It's pretty sweet to have the late model Chevy key fob, and keyless entry on a 67. You can also wire in the auto dimming interior lights, and rear trunk opener from the same box.

      Thanks Scott

Also very interested. I have a pair of '01 panels lying around and for kicks matche dthem up to my doors today... They are DAMN close. I like how the look in the interior a lot as well. Thinking about using the entire harness out of my '01 donor into the '73 now. I wonder if I can make the column work that way I dont have to figure out a way to make the cruise control work and I can keep the steering wheel mounted audio controls...
