      This oil pump really sucks!

Called to get a progress report on my engine and had an interesting conversation with the pan builder. Stef's is building my dry sump pan for the 'Cuda. When he ask me what pump I was running, I told him a Dailey 5 stage. They then recommended building the pan out of .120 wall aluminum instead of .090 that is the norm. Of course I ask why. They said they have seen the Dailey pumps pull enough consistent vacuum to actually suck the bottom of the pan into the crank! Not high vacuum, but a constant 11". That just amazed me enough that I had to post it up and see if anyone else had ever heard of that?
