      Chassis Mounted Rear Sway Bar?

Any reason NOT to run one vs control arm mounted bar?

I am looking at the Hotchkis rear bar or the ridetech Musclebar for my 68 Impala. This car wont be raced or even driven hard, its just that the rear body roll is so bad its uncomfortable (currently no rear bar). I can very cheaply add the control arm mounted bar but the chassis mounted ones look so much more effective.

Thank you. I figured more people ran these and would have input.

Bars linked directly to the chassis can be so much more effective than the control arm mounted ones that you might well end up choosing a firmer front bar to maintain handling balance. This includes the ability to put power down as you exit a corner with much enthusiasm (or a wet corner with any right foot at all).

Avoid the so-called "rear anti-roll bars" that are specifically sold for drag racing purposes, as they're too stiff to be a good choice for any other purpose.
