      Somewhere you got some bad info. Every car & truck in the upper NASCAR series run some version of a Locker. For ovals, most run a CTR version, and only unlock the left rear wheel, when turning left. For road courses, they run a conventional unit that unlocks when turning left & right.

      Detroit Lockers (and clones) do not increase friction in the drivetrain. They are either locked like a spool ... or unlocked like an open diff.
