I have installed the Wilwood rear brake kit on my 1969 Camaro. It uses the inside of the rotor as a drum. The stock cables to not match up to the kit. Is there a way to use the stock cables?
I have heard Lokar makes a cable that will work. They are $90 from Summit.

I had my calipers powder coated red. I have not tried to install the cables yet. I am still waiting on parts from Precision Brake (a month and half later) (Long story). They are alot different than the stock cables, but I think they will work a lot better. With these cables, I believe I can eliminate the big "X" under the car and the cables that rub the exhaust.

I was told the cables from Lokar are from a Ford Explorer application. You will just need to buy the clevis bracket.

They are for a Ford Explorer. Can you just order the ends? The ends that they sent with the kit thread through. The stock cables can't thread through unless you cut a slit in the connector. I will call Lokar today.

I talked to Lokar. You can do it with just the connectors if you slit them. The part number is EC-81FC and they are ~$30 from Summit. Since I already have the cable kit, I am going to use it. The kit will allow me to run both lines down on side and clean up the bottom. I have never liked the way the cables rub on the exhaust.
I can't find the cable kit I purchase on Summit. It was $85. Now all I find is a $132 kit.

Yes, the connector is referred to as the clevis bracket?

I suggest calling Lokar for the part numbers.
I have the same setup, and when I called they had a few options ( braided, plain etc.) I cant remember what part # they were, but they were listed all wrong on the jegs site at the time. I ordered the parts by phone to be sure the right #'s got here. it looks like I have to fab up a little mount at the pedal, but the rest of the cables fit great, and look a million times cleaner than the stock setup.

Saw this thread and thought I'd ask this question: A quote from ZZ Top in 2002 said that a member here "(Tito) makes a kit to really help stiffen the mounting (of a Lokar hand brake) in a clean way." ANyone know any more about this kit? Is Tito still around?
Thanks!

I have been following the tread, but not clear on what is discussed about the cables. Are we talking about using the stock camaro parking brake mech. with different cables to eliminate them from hanging down (or against the exhaust)?
I have a 69 camaro w/Baer brakes and mini tub. I would like to use the stock parking brake lever, but don't want the cables hanging down.
thanks,
Kevin

Hey guys maybe you can help out here,i got a `70 camaro and have the Wilwood rear disc set up with the drum style e-brake,my problem is that with the staggered shock set up i cannot clear the caliper to fit on the drivers side cause it hits the shock and shock mount, what did you guys do to solve this issue?any help appreciated.

Drum style e-brake . . . the guys at Currie told me to swap sides and installl 'em backwards. That is how they did it. That is all I know.
I have the same fitment issue with my spot style e-brabke. It doesn't clear the driver side shock.
Did a search for Wilwood e-brake cables. This post came up, kind of old but does anyone have any current info or pictures. I have Wilwood disc brakes with internal drum E-brakes. I am working an my Chevelle and using the factory foot pedal. Looks like I will need to use a combination of factory cables and Lokar cables and custom brackets and mounts. From what I can tell it looks like the best solution is to do away with the cloths line factory set up and run the cables straight down the drivers side. If anyone has been down this road , I would really appreciate any help you can provide.

You have it exactly right KMD. Bring the pass cable over the rear to the dirers side, and tie into the factory front cable on the drivers side rail

I used this kit:

I went down the drivers side like you said.

This is the same cable kit Lokar suggested. I guess a bracket will need to be made to hook the cables to the front original cable with all thread at the end. Then you could make adjustment. I am a bit confused on how the Lokar cables will hook to the original frame brackets on the frame. For example: Originally my Chevelle E-brakes hooked to the brakes themselfs and then went to a bracket on the frame. Then they went to the front cables from there. Can you still utilize this e-brake cable frame mount with these cables?
Hope that makes since...

Lokar sends you everything you need. I will see if I can get a picture. The only thing you have to figure out is how to connect your e-brake cable to the brass block (they will send) that holds both rear cables. My e-brake cable is threaded. I just put a nut on each side of the block and it was connected.

Hello guys,
New to the site . . . . I'm currently working on putting my car back together. I'm on a major budget so I have to do things myself (Besides it being fun too). I'm attempting to build my own exhaust but I've run into the e-brake cable meeting the exhaust.
Could any of you please post photos of your results and or explanations, (I'm a visual person).
Thanks Guys and Love the WebSite ! ! !

I'll pile on with this one. With a Morrison subframe, DSE subframe connectors and a G-Link rear end, I'm faced with having to make the Lokar/Wilwood stuff work, too, but like the post above, my exhaust seems to be right in the way--which I like, don't get me wrong, would rather that than dragging it along the ground. The mention of taking both cables down the frame rail and then routing the passenger side over the rear end sounds promising, if vaguely complex. Pictures would be welcome indeed!
