1966 Chevelle wheel choice...

I've read so much conflicting information over the past few weeks about what fits this car it's making my head spin.

The car is a 1966 Malibu, original 10 bolt, no modifications. I know the 66-7 are different than the earlier and later cars.

I've ordered the SC&C Performance AFX package, placing C5/6 Vette brake order with Kore3 tomorrow. My 15x7 rally wheels won't work with that so I've been shopping and researching. Loads of advice and many conflicting reports. Lots of info about cars with later (wider) 12 bolt rears.

Im just trying to find out if any/all of these will fit:

Front will be 18x8, 0 offset regardless.

Rear: wanted Boss 338 18x9.5 - only available in -4 offset (5.09 backspace) but many say it won't fit. I've seen pictures on this forum of a yellow stock 67 4 door running them, but many say it won't work.

I've found American Racing VN805 Vintage Boulevard in the following sizes:
18x9 with 30 offset (6.2 inch bs)
18x9.5 with 0 offset (5.25 inch bs)

I'd love to put 9.5" wide rears with 275/40 tires. Don't want to get wrong size though and the 9" would be tolerable. Really don't want to but I may just go with the 8" to be safe.

FYI, the Ridler 695 is similar to the boss 338 and comes in a 5.5" backspace on the 9.5" rim. Just in case the extra .5" helps you out.

Since there doesn't seem to be many people who know what works with my set up, does anyone have a suggestion for a wheel measuring tool? I have seen them on TV but haven't used one myself. Any suggestions? I hate to pay much for one since I'll likely only use it once to make sure what I order will fit.

I have a 66 with the spc, afx, kore 3 package and the later wider rear dimension diff (s60). front is 17x9, 5 bs, 255/45/17 rear is 17x9.5, 6bs, 285/40/17 the rear is very close to the outer fender lip but clears. If I did it again I would of order front 17x9 with no less than 5.5 up to 6bs, rear would stay the same. on your rear diff you are 1/2 inch per side shorter and I would order no less than 5.5 up to 6bs for your dimensions. hope this helps

I finally got the database to work on my PC at work - wouldn't come up on my Mac at home for some reason. That is an amazing resource.
