      1970 Chevelle/442/GTO column update ???

      1970 A-body

Looking to see if I can upgrade my column to something a bit more OEM modern with a lever activated
switch for delay wipers, and cruise for my LSX swap. Junkyard swap out from a modern car preferrably
with the proper info for a rag joint.

Just an FYI I am swapping out my 16.1 ratio steering box for the 12.7:1 ratio 93-98 Grand Cherokee too.
I have no idea what will or will not work to be honest, so I'm throwing it out there for some more eyes to assist.
Currently rewiring the entire car so it's something I'd like to find SOON!!! :D

IF anyone knows of any Chevelle GTO, 442, Skylark column swaps to something more modern .....please let me know

I don't know what the length of your column is but I installed a 3rd Gen Camaro column in my 1969 Camaro.

It is a tilt with cruise, hi-beam, and wiper controls.

They are front steer cars so if yours is too you might be able to make it work.
I ended up replacing the lower shaft to make it work in my car, but it's all going to depend on what length and how your current column connects to your steering gear.

I had to use my original steering column bracket with a little grinding to make room for the high beam activation rod.

I also swapped to a 4th gen camaro wiper as they are powered different than our old ones.
