Here is a link to Dynatech headers. The ones shown fit Chevelles (and therefore El Caminos) with the engine moved back. As it says in the notes, #1 spark plug should be 1" or more behind upper ball joint.

These are racing headers. you can weld a 3-bolt flange on the end to run the rest of your exhaust, or use a slip on tube with clamps or bolts. Because they are a race header, they are equal length for performance & shorter in height ... for ground clearance with low ride heights.

If this works, you can get them ready to bolt on, from any Dynatech dealer. (around $220 +/- ). If you need them unwelded, I can probably get them that way from Dynatech, but I suspect the cost will be same, since unwelded would be special order.

Shane,

I asked my Dynatech rep, and unfortunately they do not offer that header kit "unwelded". So you would need to buy it welded and use "as is" ... or cut & weld as needed for your application. It's inexpensive enough. (Cheaper than many kits)

Is there any reason it won't work "as is" ... for your application ?

Steve,

I couldn't find an unwelded header kit that was made for the early Chevelle (or El Camino) with the engine moved back (like Circle track racing) on the Stahl site. Can you post us a link ?

HotRod did a article on there kit, this is the heading for it.

Header Modeling Kit Build - Pipe Dream
Like Legos for Big Kids, This Header Modeling Kit Makes Building Custom Headers Simple and Fun.

I think it would have more uses then just headers.
