Greetings all,

I've looked through the fitment database and didn't see this info. Is anyone running a 10" wide rear rim on a 64 or 65 GM A-body? I'd like to run an 18x10 on the rear without modifying the wheel wells. It looks like they may fit and I was wondering if anyone had some real world experience with this size. I'm running a stock width 8.2" BOP rear. (Shorter by 1" than the later 66+? rear ends)

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Don't think you can squeeze a 10" rim in there but a 17 or 18x9.5 with 5.75" backspacing will fit with a 275/40/17 or 285/40/18 tire.

Clint,

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, American Racing sizes for the CL205 go from 18x8 to 18x10. They do offer the CL205 in 17x9.5 I believe, but not in 18's.

As a secondary question, would it be practical to mount a 275/40 or 285/40 on an 8" rim?

Thanks.

A 275/40 will fit on an 8" rim (albeit not a proper fitment) but not the 285.
