I am looking to re-locate the battery to the trunk using the MAD components using the solenoid to turn the main cranking power off and it appears that the charge wire for the battery is only a 10 gauge wire. Everything I know about power amps has you running a large battery cable from the amps to the battery. So, do you still run the amp cables up to the junction point for the alternator connection, or do you re-size the charge wire to handle the higher current and run the amp wires directly to the battery?

I increased my charge wire to an 8 gauge and wired my amps (through a fuse) directly to the battery. It's been working great for me, but if you are running some pretty hefty audio equipment, you might consider running a 4 gauge charge wire. Just remember, you're not going to be running at full power every minute that the car is running and the battery can provide power as needed (just not full time).

There's some pretty good information at: http://www.termpro.com/asp/pubs.asp?ID=117
