Welcome to the board! I have a set of the tall spindles for my Camaro but I don't have the car on the road yet. I do know the spindles have gone up in price compared to when I got mine, but they do use a different grade of aluminum now. As for being overpriced? Not too sure I would agree with you. You get what you pay for. A sealed and proven bearing setup and the ability to bolt on factory C5 or C6 brakes with no adapters is almost worth the price right there. Then you have to figure in the improved geometry and no more bump steer. I always thought the Snap-On and Mac tool guys were crazy (as in way too expensive) when I used Craftsman. Now that I wrench for a living I gave all my old tools to a friend. I only have Mac and Snap-On in my service truck now. There is definitely a difference in the tools. I would say the same about the AFX spindles. I just can't wait to actually use them! I'm sure there are others that will chime in on this subject soon.

Gotta agree with Matt.
The price has gone up since I bought mine about 5 years ago, but they use a better material now. I don't remember noticing much of a handling difference after install, but at the time, the only real performance suspension parts I had were solid aluminum subframe bushings, Hotchkis front springs and subframe connectors (along with 40 year old control arm/steering linkage bushings and a steering box with a ton of slop in it). That and I had BMW wheels with horrible offsets (got them for cheap to clear the C5 brakes I used with the spindles). They were definitely quality pieces, though. And there's a company, that shall remain nameless, that has ripped off the design and now sells their version of the spindle with brakes...
Like they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...

Don't know how they work yet but they sure are purdy. To be honest my decision was made after about two months of research, I didn't find anything out there that compared.

Overpriced? Compared to the knock off? I'll gladly pay for top quality parts, I have a set on my 67 Firebird chassis right now, superb quality and research shows in this product. I understand getting a good deal, but not getting cheap, it takes a lot longer that way but in the end I will have built one car one time, not one car several times. These kinds of parts arent made for everybody anyway.

They are nice pieces no doubt but how much taller than stock (first gen F body) are the AFX spindles? Anyone know excatly?

Based on what is costs to mass produce parts, they are very overpriced. I have looked at other custom spindles, and compared prices.

What is the actual cost to mass produce?
and how many do you have to do to call it MASS production?
how much machining actually goes into the part? what machine do you need to use to do the machining and how much does that cost to run
Should the manfacturer sell them for what it costs him to produce them?
i am not trying to come off as a jerk but how do you really know if they are over priced, compared to what they cost.

Based on actual racing parts in the market place, and based on a company that manufactures parts !!

I don't have any experience with them yet but, do plan on buying them... on being over priced...let's look at the initial costs in research and design...prototype work...test pieces...mold making... machine work.... assembly.. packaging... and marketing. all this for a quality part. Yep they could be made cheaper but keep this in mind your life depends on it.
Oh and also I read the other day a ipad would cost $15000 if every part was made in America ? Thought it was a odd interesting fact...nothing to do with ats spindles
Best of luck ryan

I've had them for the past 2 years and 8000 miles on my El Camino, they look and perform great and I like all the different brake options from stock vette stuff to any number of aftermarket companies. I bought mine second hand from someone's project changing direction but I wouldnt have a problem purchasing them new either, you get what you pay for

If they were overpriced, the free market would put them out of business. But it seems they are very popular and have a loyal following by those that use them. Hum....must be worth the price of admission!

You mean one of the Honda Ridgelines built in Lincoln Alabama? The Honda Ridgeline with 75% US content vs the GM truck with 71% US content?

3rd Honda Ridgeline and counting?
Guess it does everything you want it to do except last.
I've got American made trucks that were built before the Ridgeline was even a concept and they're still going strong on the original drivetrains.
Buy a GM or Ford next time.
