I need to replace my recovered but original front seats in my 1st gen. They squeak, smell bad, the foam is constantly "snowing" off the seats, they are unsupportive, etc. Plus they weigh almost 50# each somehow. Anyway, my budget won't allow for Recaro's so I am looking for a pair for under $1000. I was originally looking at the Scat Procar Rally but found the Corbeau GTS II in the same price range. They both would look good in vinyl or leather and would match my otherwise mostly stock interior. I'm hoping someone here has had either of these seats and could tell me how they feel and hold up. I may go with cloth because my stock vinyl keeps my back really swampy in the summer, but I don't know if newer seats vent better somehow. I just want the seats to look somewhat at home in the car.

Do the newer vinyl or leather seats breathe better than the old vinyl or is it better to just go with cloth? I've read mixed reviews about the Corbeaus but they have got to be better than the stockers

I have the GTSII in leather, and I think they are great seats. I dont have AC either, I get the sweaty back too.
These seats are a great comprimise between factory and race seat.
They are not too obtrusive, and still hold you in place.
I think Matts Classic is now a Corbeau dealer. I would check their prices as well.

Thanks- how do they look with the rest of your interior? Did you use their brackets?

Thats a pretty good price. I really like the shape of the seat, I hope it blends ok with the rest of the interior. I was about to pull the trigger on the scat seats but for the same price you have me leaning toward these.

Not a fan of scat by pro car.
1. I don't want SCAT on my seat.
2. See #1

I started with their brackets, but ended up making my own. They sat too high.

No. I made a 3/16" thick square base for the seat sliders to bolt to.
I added some steel bar to the floor. Then the base bolts to the floor.
they basically are on the floor.
Novas do not have the seat pan like the camaros.

Ok well I won't be buying the brackets then, I'm 6'-3" so I don't want them sitting too high anyway. I will get the cloth GTS II, and I can't wait to ditch the heavy stock seats. I'll lose about 40 lbs just by swapping seats- thats almost worth it alone!

I installed The GTS IIs' in my daily driver 92 LX. Really, really like them a lot. Very comfortable and supportive. Mine are Micro-Suede - very nice material. Highly recommended you Scotch Guard both seats thoroughly. If not water stains will dry in an ugly way. Learned this lesson on the first pair I bought - in black cloth - Corbeau was awesome - let me return them and gave me upgrade to suede for like next to nothing. Great seats...great company....best of luck with them!!
