I am ready to drop the ls1 4l60e into my 69 camaro this weekend and I am doing some pre- measuring.

I am using dirty dingo mounts with the 3 mount position on the stock small block frame monts with energy suspension polly mounts, for the trans I am using a g-forge crossmember and bought the tall and short polly mount just in case as I was not shure wich to use .
It looks like I need to use the last holes in the mount adaptors to the rear setting the motor forward but the crossmember is still 3" short on the last hole on the frame.
has anyone ran into this problem? if so what did you need to do? drill the frame also anyone who used the mounts what position holes did you use? and wich trans mount in the rear..tall or short?

I have used these mounts in all of my LS1 swaps. With stock subframe I used the middle or "stock location". I have always used the short/wide frame stands, but I would think the tall/narrow would also work. Just make sure you match the motor mounts to the stands. I have never used the G-force X member. I have used the bowtie overdrives 4L60 x member which lined up perfectly, and also have just moved the stock turbo350/4spd cross member further back & drilled new holes. Scott

Thanks, so the mid mount location is the stock,I will try it there first.
My polly mounts are wrong ,I need the wider mounts..too bad I sanded and coated them,I have to buy another set.
I will need to drill new frame holes atleast 2-3" further back, I would have used the stock trans mount and saved myself $350.00 if I knew I had to drill new holes in the frame anyway.
Thought these swaps were easy..

I got the motor in the dirty dingo mounts and new energy suspension polly mounts fit great, but the g force trans mount is a no go.
it is not even close. I even turned it backwayds to it would reach further but was hanging off the rear of the frame.
now I need to find another mount fast and send this 50 lb chunk of steel back to summit .
The dyna tech headers fit perfect too..but I had to remove the mount bolt and lift the motor to get it in.
