64 Falcon Futura, owned since '83. In the family since new, was my high school car... father & son project in '86. Started as original 260/Fordomatic, then series of 302/C4 combos through the late 80's, then 351/C6 in early 90's. Teardown began in July 2011, stripped & dipped, new lower quarters, filled all seams & cowl. Front suspension is Heidt's Pro G, heavily modified to get ride height & geometry correct. Engine set low and back 3". Rear suspension custom 4 link, frame rails moved in 6", mini tubbed. Heidt's SF connectors w/Kenny Brown Extreme Matrix going in this week. Smeding 427W (572/572), Vintage Air Frontrunner, Tremec TKO 600 (arrives tomorrow!), Baer brakes, 18x10, 18x8 Foose Nitrous II. Hopefully it will be off the rack and on the ground at the end of the month! Paint by June??

Very cool car. By the number of Canadians I see on this site we may have to ask for our own "Canadian" section under the regions. What do you think moderators?

Looks like you started with a very nice car. Sounds like it will be a real mover when done.

that car looks really cool. I like that it is a mid-size, which makes it a great autocross / track car due to the shorter wheelbase. And, they aren't very common which makes it that much cooler when you see them built up.

Thanks for the feedback. The plan originally wasn't to go this extreme; I was planning on a decent rebuild w/a 406/AOD, coilover FS, basic 4 link out back, reuse the interior that I redid in 2006, reuse the 17" Torq Thrusts, etc. Then I decided that I NEEDED a 427 in it. And a 5 speed. The nearly 600HP mill then needed a better cradle, so I went with the Pro G FS. In order to get the ride height right and still keep the taller Windsor under the stock hood we had to chop, modify & move the double x-members, set the engine back (there went the firewall) then modify the LCAs and go with a rear Flaming River rack. Out back, the outer wheelhouses had a bit of rust and needed patchwork, and the 18x10s out back needed a bit more room, so we moved the rails in 6", fabricated new tubs, and built the custom 4 link. The rendering was done a year or so ago. Good thing I have a spare (the Fairlane).

Updates have been rather infrequent, the build has taken longer than planned. Need to finish the front suspension, wiring, interior, a/c... Trim is being redone at present. Hopefully it will be on the road in a few weeks.

I see pictures of great plumes of tire smoke on the horizon . . . followed by difficult cleaning of pretty black paint. The Falcon looks great!

Very nice. Great Christmas for you! What part of Texas are you in? I am located in Plano. It is a big state. St Louis, Missouri is closer than El Paso, Texas for example.

Wow! Looks great!
Thanks, I just finished the wiring, interior, and trim in July and had it out a few times before the snow fell... Done for the winter. Here's a couple other pics. A few high level details: Smeding Performance 427 Cobra Special, Tremec TKO 600, 9" with 4:11s, Heidts Pro-G front susp, 4 link out back. Custom stainless Tri-y headers into 3" stainless pipe with Borla mufflers x4. Baer brakes, Foose Nitrous 2 wheels. Engine compartment and belly done in matte Shelby Pepper grey. All wiring and plumbing hidden, master cyl under dash hanging out with Vintage Air. Body - all seams filled, cowl filled, some emblems removed. Interior - stock theme but improvements, custom gauges fit into rechromed and painted dash bezel.
