This is on my 71 Camino, no tilt.

hopefully some can help, did you look in or own the El Camino/Chevelle assembly Manual? Its also is in the Chassis Manual for that car, the steering column/ and posi unit are the only 2 things I sent out for rebuild

i have that on my 69 non tilt column. i believe if i remember correctly it is the bearing thrust washer

I think it goes under this spring. I know it needs to bring the steering wheel away from column. Because, the hub on the grant wheel is rubbing the column when I turn..
