GM After 1979 Wiper Washer System Wiring

[Erness]

Okay, I searched around this site and didn't find anything,
so here goes:
On a 1985 Pontiac Parisienne (Caprice) I replaced the original
washer and electronics with a Tridon unit. That only lasted
three years before the washer stopped working.
So having kept all the original stuff, I repaired the washer
piston and seals, which what was wrong with it in the first
place but I couldn't get the pump working back then.
I got it repaired and put the original back in.
The original is a mechanical marvel rather than a circuit
board and an electric pump like the Tridon unit.
Got everything in today but the wiper motors not getting
any power. The circuit board is, because I can hear the
click of the magnet on the switch when I turn on the
washer switch.
(This is getting longer than I figured to explain.)
The Tridon installation required that I join the pink wire
with the black stripe directly to the red wire going to
the wiper motor. I guess that was to bypass something
on the original circuit board.
In hooking up the original, I could clearly see the pink wire
on the circuit board, but the wires on the wiring harness
were both red. I did take pictures before I replaced the
original with the Tridon, but they're not help as the wires
are all black because of years of dirt and grease on them.

So I'm wondering if anyone knows if the pink wire goes to
the wiring harness or to the motor?
I checked the fuse box and the wiper fuse is okay.

Since the original had lasted twenty years and
the Tridon only three, I'm keen to use the original.
