Ok, guys I know that I want to buy Speedhut gauges and I am having trouble selecting a color. I plan on putting Carbon fiber 3M wrap on an original woodgrain bezel(for strength of hanging gauges), and in the process smoothing out some of the extras such as turning signals. I will be eventually changing my interior over from stock to Resto-mod/pro-touring style with new seats, door panels, power locks and windows, and other cool things like that. Possibly even a custom center console with Navigation. I want my gauges to reflect a modern european feel, that the outside has, but currently I have stock interior. I want my gauges to set a tone for the rest of the interior. Here are my selections for colors in the order that I really like on top, going down.

Not sure what it is about this tangerine color, but I think it will look killer with a mostly black interior with the carbon fiber as a background.

The problem with the sliver, is that it looks great during the day, but only has a green glow at night...

Also, throwing Red faced into the mix.

And this is the standard black gauges. I know they will look good as many people have them. But my problem with them, is that everyone has them. I just want something different. I personally don't like the way that the white faced gauges look in these cars. No offense to anyone.

If anyone is good a photoshop and wants to take a crack at showing me what it would look like with carbon fiber wrap and any of these gauges let me know!

Here is a decent picture of my interior.

All in gauges black or white and then do the tach in the yellow or red.

I thought of that too. Similar to what Ferrari did with their gauges.

Yep, that was my thought, it gives a custom touch without looking overdone.

Nice guages. I understand the whole wanting to be different. However, if you think about it, most restored/modified muscle cars run white face, making the awesome looking black not so comon. However to me, being from a european background, definatelly the red faced would give that feel. They look nice to.

This is from my point of view, so take from it what you like. I am building my car with the hope that it will be relevant and look cool for the next ten years. As cool as the orange looks, you may grow tired of it over time. I am going to likely stick with something that is classic and clean when I buy my gauges.

That is a good point, I appreciate all opinions. That really didn't cross my mind. What is nice about Speedhut is that for around 15-25 per gauge they will reface them for you. So if I did get sick of that color I can send them in and get a new face put on.

If it is that cheap to have them re-faced, then go with what you like. I think the PS looks cool.

Too much yellow/orange Try a P-shop with the tach yellow and all others in white or black.

I think the only face colours that will go with your car, are black, silver or a grey colour. Anything else will just stand out, and not for good reasons. Red is about the only "colour" that I think you could get away with, because the stock illumination for Pontiacs is/was red. I personally hated the red illumination, and always changed my Pontiacs to white or green illumination.

And mixing face colours looks like you bought them used and pieced the set together, unless done in a very specific manner, in which something eles in the car has shown a similar theme, but is still difficult to pull off IMO.

I have seen so many cars "ruined" simply because the owner wanted something specific that was "different" than other people's cars but there was no other reason for that part to be "different".
