Do I need to Dust Caps?

Maybe a silly question but my dust caps push out the center caps on my forgeline wheels. Tryed banging them in or flattening them but it still pushes the center cap out slightly... When the dust cap is off the center cap fits perfectly. So my question is, do I really need the dust caps or are the Forgeline center caps good enough for protection?

I had the same problem. I ended up cutting the dome off the dust cap and welding on a flat round plate in it's place. The flat plate rides about 1/8" off the spindle and the dust cap ended up just kissing the flat plate on the other side. Tight fit for sure!
