      4th Gen F-body seats in a 68 Bird with a twist

I was planning on taking some 4th gen Firebird or TA seats and getting a custom upholstery job done on them to make the look like the original seats.

      Had anybody done this?

I already found a place that sells stuff similar to the "comfortweave" that I can use.

      they already have similar seams

I used firebird seats with headrest in another 69 I had. I used comfortweave on those. The front mounts right in no problem, the rear needs to be modded. I just cut the feet off the rear & flipped them around & rewelded them. I have some old seat platforms I kept just to mock up 4th gen seats.

Yes, 4th gen camaro seats. 4th gen firebird seats have separate headrests. I'll see if I have a pic of my old 69 with the firebird seats. Scott

Here is mine with the firebird seats (94 or 95 ones). I had them recovered to mimic the 68 deluxe style through a local upholsterer. They are SO much more comfortable to sit in. I have manual ones, even though others have used the electric ones. Mine have lumber support which I plan on hooking up when I get back to the states.

Here is a comparison with the firebird and the original camaros ones-

wow that looks great, really have to stare to see the differences, have you thought about painting the plastic on the back to match or wrapping it with vinyl?

Captainofiron, those pics are from 07 when I put them in the day before leaving on the Power Tour. I dyed the backs since then. I did the 06 PT with the old style seats with new buns and the 07 PT with the new seats, night and day difference. Only thing that would make it better is the lumbar hooked up.
