      Lokar Shifter boot help.

Im needing to know any tips on installing this Lokar shifter boot and ring. Didnt know if Im to drill holes threw the boot where the ring holes are or just tuck the boot under the ring when snug, maybe over lap the boot and cut off whats past the ring.... And whats the best way to drill threw the carpet and juke with out it getting bound up on the bit or screw?

      Thanks for any help!

I poked holes through the boot to line it up with the screws on the ring, then trimmed the edge of the boot.

Thanks, I believe the shifter was the 8" version.
