Rear tire and wheel on 62 nova wagon

I'm building a 62 nova wagon and will be mini tubbing the car so I will be able to have tire all the way to the stamped frame rails. Just wondering what you guys are thinking ballpark before I cut and measure. I was wanting to go with a 20x10 but have decided that wheel may be a bit large for the wheel opening. So I am now thinking a 18x10 with like a 305/35 18. What are your thoughts?

sorry that one had to stew abit i guess? Nothing bigger that 16in or 24in dia is going to look right...without streching the wheel opening a bit. Especially on a wagon.

      27" tire

I know its a 67 but it gives you an idea.

Because you are mini tubbing the rear, nothing is a given that will fit. It all depends on how you mini tub it. I have seen a 62 or 63 Convertible Nova with 22's on the back and it actually looked OK. (it was slammed all the way to the ground though). On my 67' SS I was planning on going with an 18X10 in the rear with something like a 295/40 tire.

On a custom application like the one you're planning, you basically get the rolling stock combo you want and build the car to fit them. It's done all the time.

Like everyone said, you get the wheels & tires than build around them or wait till your tub is done and start measuring.

We put a 20 on my friends 63 noba and had to stretch the wheel opening a couple inches so it looked right.

      I'm planning on running a 17x10 with a 275/60 tire, 30"tall, 11" wide....I did alittle more than a mini tub on mine.

      Later, Gary
