I dont even have a Chevelle, lol. I have been planning and collecting parts so long they were giving me a bad time about not having the car at all. The other joke is maybe I will drive it one day...several years from now.

So, here are my first posted pictures...so I guess its not really an update.

Looks like a Chevelle to me. This brings up a popular conversation (or philosophical debate) regarding:

Get It Done vs. Do It Right

My car is old new. It was on the cover and featured in a magazine 3 YEARS ago, and it still ain't done. The photographer, an awesome talent by the name of Rich Chenet, made it "look" like a done show car. You'd be shocked at the list of tasks that need to be completed. But I get to enjoy it regularly.
Another example, you'd be surprised at how much work was done on the Mule after its big debut. Even the TT small block and vented hood were part of the original plan. Those mods were completed recently and are probably still being tweaked.

Point is, there is nothing wrong with slapping that sucker together and DRIVING it.

This also brings up another popular question : What were you doing Thinking at work???? :dunno:

As Steve said, a project is never "done", satisifaction comes with always knowing you can change it and make it better, and nothing is set in stone. Put what you have in, whatever setup, drive it, and add or substract things as you go.
I will also help to teach you how your car works and feels when you change things, so you can dial it in just right.

UPDATE -
The heart transplant is half completed.
Will post pictures tonight.

Now I need to find a good place to pickup a master cylinder to convert to manual brakes.

You guys that build from total scratch have my complete respect for I do not have the patience it would ever take. Being able to drive my car while I'm modifying it is the only way I know.

Well said Steve!
I do the exact same thing with my cars. I ENJOY them every day that I can. Then I concentrate on making them look nice. This way I know everything works and is fully functional by the time I paint the car.

Thats why you have to get one of these shirts when you ride in primer. From this thread https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?p=69927#post69927 :lmao:

I am actually with you on this one. The only color I have considered painting my car is flat black. But I would be just as happy with all of the body work done and the car in primer.

If I paint it all PURDY I wont want to drive it...and driving it is the best part!
