View Full Version : which side of rotors for calipers?

Ok, maybe I'm just a jackass, but I got C5 brakes with Kore3 brackets. It's a sweet set up for sure. Does it matter which side of the rotor the front calipers go on? Seems like new Vettes and Camaros have them on towards the firewall, but others like Audi, etc have them towards the front.

Typically it is dictated by your steering. Front or rear steer, tie rod ends fit on the opposite side of the rotor.

Most guys run them trailing since that lines up better with respect to hose routing and many prefer the look, myself included, however on the rear steer F/X-body cars, you can opt to run them in either configuration, just make sure the bleed screws are pointing up at the end ;)

and of course you want the bleeders up to get the air out....
