So I am having all the typical vapour lock symptoms. Hesitation, no power, and after a cool down period all returns to normal. Here is the setup:
302 at the 275hp mark
Fast ez efi system with fast external fuel pump kit
-6 fuel lines with an connectors*
fuel pump is mounted low and is gravity feed
Lines are routed away from heat sources
Return line is mounted low on the tank and away from pickup
Fuel filters are clear of debris
Tank is new no rust or dirt
Vent line seems to be working well cant say i have actually checked, but no rushing air when the gas cap is removed

The only other symptom is an extremely noisy fuel pump which has been that way from day one. The car only has about 5 hours on it. Any ideas? Also if I do go ahead and replace the pump, does anyone know of a nice quite external one that has worked well for them?

Vent better....noisy pump means its overworking...what size is vent?

Fuel return line should be mounted high and return to the top of the tank.

hmmm i guess a low return line would cause the pump to work harder. The vent line is 3/8ths.

Vent size is probably fine. Has to be returned to high side of the tank. Where is returned to? If low around feed line could be causing cavitation which would make the pump work harder trying to pull fuel.

the return is mounted low and away from the feed line on the tank. I will check the vent line to make sure it didn't get pinched off when i lifted the tank and strapped it in, at the same time I will move the return line high and away. Wont be able to work on it for a few days yet but will post the results when I can.

Get a II Much Fabrication vent system and if you simply cannot mount your return line up high, consider a 1/2" return line.
