So I am buying a 13" 6 piston Wilwood setup for the front of my 68 camaro project and am also buying a set of 17" Budnik Tiller wheels ( both used off this site) . I talked to wilwood and they said they would clear SOME 17s .... Does anybody know for sure if they will clear the budniks ?? Thanks in advance , Mike

I highly doubt if they wouldn't fit b/c they are 17" diameter. I had a set of 13" Wilwoods in 16" wheels. The issues is probably caliper face to back of wheel spoke clearance. Your best bet would be to measure the wheels for caliper clearance. I'm sure Wilwood knows how much clearance is needed. I believe Budnik wheels are custom built, so it really depends on how those particular wheels were specified.

Thanks for the info ! I figured if anything the 6 piston caliper would be the issue . Wilwood talked like they would fit, but they said some 17s are iffy . I was just hoping somebody had ran this setup and could give me definate answer . Thanks again for the info and pic , Mike

The Budnik Tiller 5 is a custom wheel, so it can be machined with a variety of pad thicknesses depending on what the original purchaser specified, it's not an off-the-shelf wheel. Pad thickness will primarily determine how much caliper clearance or interference you have and spacers are typically the only fix for inteference issues. Certain sizes of that wheel are offered in either standard stepped lip or flat lip designs, thus different hoops. The hoop will have an impact on the diameter and shape of the barrel and can impact the radial clearance of the caliper. I know that the stepped lip version locates the valve stem in the step...not sure about the flat/soft lip version.
You can download the Wilwood kit instructions from their site which will show the critical caliper dimensions relative to the hat of the rotor, aka wheel mounting pad.

Tobin , First off thanks for all that info . I appreciate it ! Not sure if it helps , but the person that bought the wheels new was going to run c5 brakes on it . I figure worst case I but a couple small spacers for the front .

I am running 17" Bonspeeds up front with no problem to the calipers OTHER then the valve stem hits the caliper. The valve stem is on the inside of these wheels (behind a spoke). I will have to swap out to a set of short stems to solve the problem.

I assume you are talking about the SL6 caliper? That caliper is a direct swap for the FSL in my picture. It should have the same clearance as mine.
