Advice on proportioning valve

Trying to get my brake lines all hooked up. Currently have Wilwood front and rear with manual master cylinder. Bought brake lines from Inline Tube for '68 camaro. Would this be a good proportioning valve to use? What is the wire used for?

The Wilwood #260-11179 distribution block with built-in adjustable proportioning valve also includes the pressure switch and wire you noted, however you do not have to use it. It could be used to activate the brake lights in a hot rod application, however as was discussed in a thread a couple of months ago, the electro-mechanical pedal switches are dime a dozen and work really well without any of the inherent issues associated with the pressure switches. If you don't use it, you should just replace it with an 1/8" NPT plug.

While I really like the Wilwood unit and we sell a lot of them, they have all 3/8-24 SAE inverted flare ports, so they're not like their OE counterparts and therefore OE replacement hard lines will not be a direct fit. We recommend and sell them all of the time to people who are replumbing their cars from scratch themselves because they can route the lines as they wish and flare accordingly...sometimes it's almost more work if you start with a pre-bent hard line the isn't quite right for your custom application IMO.

Thanks Tobin, yeah I know I'll have to rework the hard lines, or should I be looking at a stock 1st gen distribution block and then locate a different prop valve between the block and master?
