I have a 700R4 in my 69 Camaro and will be dropping the pan to replave the filter and manually check the operation of my trottle valve. My question is will the fluid in my torque converter completely drain if the pan is left off for a week or two? If so, will I need to do anything special after completing my work to ensure I don't run into any aireation issues?

Converter fluid won't drain out, I don't think it would be wise to leave the pan for two weeks either. Wouldn't want a gust of wind blowin garbage up in there!

you can flush the converter and transmission using a cooler line flush. Never heard of aeration being an issue with GM autos. http://www.gassavers.org/showthread.php?t=7563 You can also just drop the pan and install a drain plug if there isn't already one, and do a few drain and fills over the course of a week, same overall effect, it's a bit wasteful with the fluid though.
