Don't worry about the small minds that think a female should not be into cars. I used to have a GF that loved cars (not working on them so much but did try) and I had plenty of times telling other guys that I was driving my GIRLFRIENDS Nova. I actually had her Nova faster than all my friends cars (at the time).

What was worst for me was when I wanted to date a lady in Chicago when I street raced there. Her dad tried to scare me while in Indy,,,cool thing then was I worked with IPD and had carry permit. 4 Chicago tough guys and her dad, I asked who wanted broken bones first (I was slightly cocky as Iwas in martial arts training and helping teach at same time) and who wanted bullet holes. The former I would do, the latter not unless they had guns of their own.
He threatened me, she found out I didnt back down and walked away,, never got that but oh well, found better lady who lived in Indy at time. Still friends even.
But I did call the rice!
And I guarantee you if I REALLY like a lady, 6 brothers will not deter me.

I have a 25 year old daughter, that when she was in High school she asked me "if I sand down my car will you paint it?" I briefly showed her how to sand it down, fill some door dings. She took the thing apart! Door panels off, door handles out of doors, if it moved and was next to paint it came off. She sanded it down, fixed the dents and I painted it. She then put it all back together and was happy as a lark. All her friends were amazed she could fix a flat quicker than most boys. No she's not a tomboy just likes cars. She has a '06 Trailblazer SS now. Now if I could just keep her foot off the mat!

Oh thats an easy check, got an old spark plug? pull the line and block it off! If it idles back right your just a hard job of crawling under dash away,,,but at least its a truck and not a Miata!
