Will These wheels/tires fit on my 2nd generation Firebird?

The wheel/tire combo i am wanting is this...

      Front
      17x8 4.5 in. Backspace cragar soft 8
      245x45x17

      Rear
      17x9 5 in. Backspace cragar soft 8
      275x45x17

Will it fit under my firebird? The front I found on a fitment chart and it should work. The rear is what I am concerned with.

If anybody is running this tire size and has a picture post it. thanks.

PS as far as i know the firebird is stock height with 40 year old springs.

      Thanks!

I think the sizes you have mentioned will be just fine. I have a '70 Formula (lowered 3") and I'm using an 18 x 10 in the rear with 6.0" backspace and a 285 tire. I did have to roll the lips and flatten the seat belt bulge, but I think your 17 x 9 with 5" b.s. and a 275 will be OK. If you still have stock springs, you might have to watch those wheels lips when the car dips hard. Might not hurt to lightly roll them. Post up pics when you get 'em on !

Those will easily fit, and should leave tons of room so there's no clearance issues.

I dont know if it would fit or not but I wish I would of gone with a 18x8
in the rear to eat up some wheel well and give the car a kinda raked look

On my 75 TA I have 18x10 with 5.875" backsapce and 18x8 with 4.75" bacspace. 85x40 and 245/40. TA is lowered 3.5". I could get 305's in the back with a .25" spacer. I do run coilovers so my only clearance issue is the seat belt bump. I am removing it this spring for more clearance for 305's without a spacer.

talk about replying to an old post. yes the wheel/tire combo fits. I ended up buying them. Have not had it on the road yet though. I ended up rebuilding the front suspension with lowered springs.Name: 1900579_550030355116206_2955110376910136417_o.jpg

Are you running a spacer with the 6" backspacing? I have a 78 TA and I measured that I will have to run a spacer on backspacing larger than 5.25" In this thread there are several people running larger backspaces on the rear and I am just wondering what size of spacers you guys are running. Also- where are you buying these spacers and are the wheels bolt patterns the 5 x 4.75(120.7) or are the wheels the 120mm bolt pattern?

      I will appreciate your answers.
