Need some help. (Second Gen Camaro) I just checked the area where the body meets the fron frame on the drivers side behind the front wheel and discovered that the metal where the bushing should attach is no longer thier. The bottom where the nut and the buching would bolt too is gone. Does anyone know how dificult of a repair this would be?? Cost involved? I think my description is good but I can take a picture of the area if needed? Thanks for any info you guys could provide.

I would certainly recommend posting up a picture, they're worth a thousand words you know... As far as how to fix it, depending how much is gone you may be able to just lap weld a plate in place and call it a day. If that wont work Im sure you can get a patch panel to weld in.

Hey, just saw this thread. I had the same problem on my first gen, the ones behind the front wheel are the most common to rot. They make patch plates for this. They are around $50 for a set of 6 (http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-subframe-mounting-points-repair-plate-set-lower-1967-1981.html). 4 of mine were rotten, so I had the old ones cut out and the new one's welded in. My mechanic was able to drop the subframe a couple of inches and do it while it was still on the car. It cost me $400 for all 4.

If your's aren't too bad here's a cheaper option: http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-subframe-mounting-points-repair-plate-set-upper-1967-1981.html

This is what mine looked like:

Thanks for this info guys. Turns out the plate rotted and the upper piece poped the spot welds. I am just now getting back into this build and will post some pics. It is not pretty but i think with your info (Thanks 67 Rally) i should be able to get it right.
