2000 to 2002 Firebird Seats
Does anyone know of a place that sells black seat covers for firebird seats? Either in vinyl or leather.
I have recovered 69 seats and would like to do these myself.
Another option is to remove the cloth covers and have someone make some replacememnt covers.
I was quoted 700.00 to 800.00 for leather covers installed. 2 front bucket seats. I picked these up off craigslist for 80.00
This is the type that I have.

Katzskins makes covers for the seats that are pretty sweet and you can choose from wide variety of options. 700 wouldn't be too bad of a price to have them recovered though with leather...

Yellow Dog Upholstery
Here is the place that did my 2000 Firebird seats and they came out phenomenal. I get nothing but compliments about them. He might still have the templates that he cut mine out of, but he does all custom work.
These are black leather with dark graphic gray perforated leather inserts.
Tell Mark I told you to call him and you can work out a deal. I thought he was very reasonable and had him do the interior on my entire car.

Pardon the pics the car had a ton of shop dust on it when this was taken and they look awesome in person. As you can see we matched the rear 68 to the fronts, but the rear was narrowed to fit around the mini tubs and DSE Quadra Link.

Mike,
Mine were leather when I got them from LKQ and they were power. If you can find the power ones it is worth changing them out. Put yours back on Craigslist somebody will take them quick. The scratch on the hinge cover was easily fixed, but the part was had to track down since this seat swap is getting so popular. I found some on a parts shelf in a dealership in Arkansas. They are getting harder to find, but you should be able to repaint them if you had too. Even easier just have them shipped to Mark and then you know they will fit perfect.
These were a breeze to wire in and well worth the adjustability. Mine is a 5 speed Tremec and I can set it just where I want it. I think I paid $200 for the seat mounts and all. The front holes line right up with the stock floor bolts and then you just weld in a couple extensions and drill press new holes and you can use the existing mounting holes in the floor. Bang perfect and you don't have any guessing because the seats are in the exact spots as your original seats. Easy peasy. My builder uses these all the time now and just puts in two drivers so the passengers can have the power too. I don't really care about the passenger comfort that much. The manual works just fine for a passenger.
Send him your rear and you will have an exact match. Mark can make you up a sketch and get your input on how you want the stitching.
I was walking through Car Craft Nationals and all of a sudden saw a bitch'n black 67 bird vert. I looked inside and guess what? They copied my interior exactly. I talked to the owner and he actually was watching my thread on Pro-Touring. He was worried I would be mad, but hey, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Now I park next to Jeff and his boy and we trade ideas.

Stay away from the T/A seats with the air bolsters since they are harder to hook up and I think you would find it harder to make the covers with all the pleats in the bottom. Oh, do the perforated leather on the inserts. They stay totally cool to the touch and you won't have your legs sticking to them with shorts on and hot weather and you battle the heat way more than we do.
Good luck! It's totally worth it.
