Is this something to even consider? Tri-5 boxes look very similar in mounting, but have never had one of each to compare. I want power steering, but not the stock set up. Can a front steer box work on a rear steer car? I have seen alot of R&P set ups but it is a driver and my pockets are not that deep.

brian have you checked out www.randallsrack.com ? randy is a great guy and his rack isn't all that expensive. i'm sure it's a bit more than the tri-5 box but the tri-5 box is a custom piece as well. i plan on going with randy's rack on my car as well. his looks to be about the best engineered short of a tcp or rrs rack and about half the cost of those

I know that have read something along these lines on the geek-net. Something like using a corvette (year ?) steering box in a Ford application. If I find the link I will post it.

What is the advantage of a chebbie box over the Ford unit? I put a blu-printed GW box in my 68 coupe....I have yet to drive the car so I can not comment on its performance.

Power assist is integrated. Much simpler than the nightmare Ford came up with.

Agreed. Nightmare is the nice way of putting it. I can not tell you how much s#$t I had to do to the power steering on my 66 coupe (my first car, R.I.P.).:banghead:
