ls shaped firewall pocket or brow

Im looking for a universal firewall pocket that I can weld into a shaved 69 camaro. I built one for a 57 a while back and didnt like how generic it looked. I have since seen some that were stamped out of 16-18 gauge steel but cant remember where I saw them. This particular car has a ls3 sitting in a chris alston front sub frame with there billet motor mounts and detroit speed sub frame bushings. We have already cut the trans tunnel and plan on raising it an inch. With the motor bolted up the passenger head is 1/4 inch from the firewall and the vacuum port on the back of the intake is almost touching the stock wall. This isnt a "massage it with a hammer" build like they suggested. Sub frame is powder coated so the easiest option is modify the firewall. just trying to source a firewall pocket or brow. Something more rounded then boxy and preferably something stamped the shape of the top of an ls motor and intake. Thanks

I've heard of some folks using a wheel barrel and cutting it to fit

done- that before, wanted something a little more fit. We couldnt find anything so we made one

Actually look for plain steel oversized baking pans. Some cities even have bakery supply houses. you can use stainless but need to weld it with proper back up or purge setup, and use tig welding and proper rods and etch it properly to get paint to stick.

Cool firewall, thats a great fit.

Look at some of the repro firewall for hot rod bodies...like the T model or 28 A Ford. The firewall panel actually domes out from the body at the cowl line a couple of inches from memory.
People reverse these panels to set the engine back in the hot rods. You could cut what you need of the firewall and insert it into the stock firewall on your car for more clearance.
Also, various Hot Rod supply shops sell recessed firewalls of various depths that could be usable.
