      C6 wheels on a 68 - 72 Nova

Hello - I am looking into a future project of a 68-72 Nova - and was wondering if the 2005-2007 C6 wheels that Ive had sitting in storage for a few years now would even fit on a Nova.

      Wheels specs:

      18x9 in the front
      19x10 in the rear

I would be minitubing the rear with the DSE kit - I've read there website and it says you can fit a 315mm tire back there - but I am concerned that a 19" wheel wont fit.

Anyone know if could fit at 295 35 19 back there?

Heres a crappy photoshop of what I am thinking about..

      Thanks,
      Craig

The front C6 wheels are 18x8.5, and yes, they can be made to fit with the proper sized wheel adapters. The 19" rear wheel diameter isn't really an issue so long as your tire diameter is still in the 26" range, although ride height should be taken into consideration as well. Our Nova project currently has the C6 5-spoke wheels with the OE sized C6 tires, 245/40R18 front and 285/35R19 rear BFG KDW2's. We originally installed everything with 45mm wheel adapters up front and 54mm adapters in the rear without an mini-tub, just a rolled fender lip and I think it actually would have worked, but it was really close to rubbing everywhere. A little hammer work on the inner fenderwell in the rear smoothed things out and we had 3/8" to 1/2" clearance everywhere at ride height which happens to be a Hotchkis TVS 2" drop. A few weeks ago we decided to do our own micro-tub to gain about an inch additional clearance so that we can run 45mm adapters all the way around and potentially run a slightly larger tire in the future without any risk of rubbing.

Up front, we are running a SC&C Stage II Plus kit with the original drum spindles and our C5/C6 front brakes. The tires rubbed the sub very lightly at full lock, so we welded up the steering stops slightly, problem solved. We are running the inner fenders and swapped out the hex head fasteners on the outer fender with button heads.

John, sorry, but no build thread...it's been dragging on now for a couple of years and we actually lost a lot of the early pictures along with a hard drive. Lesson of that day was to always keep external hard drive backups and a little cloud space doesn't hurt either data storage integrity.

My brother and I finally recently moved the Nova back to the top of the priority list, so we've been making some progress lately after a period of project doldrums. It's a beater...what was supposed to be a few month scuff'n'shoot turned into a several year deal with a new cab, micro-tub, etc. At this point, it's going to get a 350/350 dropped into it to get it moving under it's own power and we'll go LS/manual when time and money allow.
