      Changing finish on wheels.

I have a set of, cheap imported cast wheels. The centers are painted. I am thinking I would like to make the center have a more 'cast' finish. A raw, kinda rough look. If that makes sense.

      Here is a pic,

I am thnking I can maybe media blast them, or use a hard stripper, and maybe acid etch them.

Or, should I just see about having them powdercoated?

Of course, if I can do it myself, and save money, that would be better than paying to have them powdercoated.

      Thoughts?

They look a bit darker in person, more of a gunmetal finish. Hyper black is what the manufacture called the finish.

To produce a rough cast like appearance, you would need to shot blast them with a bigger type shot. S230 steel shot would give you that rough cast look.
