I searched many pages of threads but found no help so here I am. I just got a Gen IV system for my 68 Camaro, non-factory air. Stupid me thought it came with the 3 knob controls. Guess what? I was wrong. So now I need to purchase that. My question is this. If I just purchase the streamline 3 knob controls, do I need to purchase a plate to go into the OEM control hole before it will bolt in or will it bolt right in?

You help is greatly appreciated.

If you want to put it in the stock location I believe you must purchase the mounting plate, I'm not an expert but I'm looking to do the same thing with my system, hope this helps

I bought the Gen IV kit with the streamline 3 knob controls for a non/AC car. It did not come with anything to mount the controls in the original location.

Detroit Speed sells a piece you can use to mount the VA 3 knob controller in your 68 camaro. Look in the climate control section. You will have to start with the blank for the gen IV controller unless they fab you one which would probably happen if you call them. The blank is $40 and expect to pay $65 for a precut piece.
