So, i am going to autocross my car for sure....Was thinking about the old iron tour.........Not any more....Just one little tag and boom......If it is Not my car and with a sponsor...let's do it....My car and sweet paint.....After that video, Nope....

Ouch! Although I really enjoy running our cars on the tracks, I don't think I would ever be interested in anything but "time trial" stuff. Fender to fender racing a classic does nothing for me.

Looks like he hit the tirewall....glad he didn't slide a few more feet down the track where there was no tirewall and hit that concrete barrier....that may have hurt worst.

This series is very well supported over here, they get tagged all the time, rubbing is racing.

good thing the steering wheel is on the other side down there too, it saved the driver from a harder impact on him.

Boy.....This is just like investing......Don't invest certain money in certain areas without knowing that you could lose it....Don't take your car on the track for side by side racing ,unless you are willing to lose it....May not be your fault....Or the guy that hits you....Risk is risk.....

Someone else's car and a sponsor, I am in...My freshly restored Z/28......Let's start with time trials first.......A few more crash video's should seal the deal for me...

That may be the dangers of racing, but i'd still be pissed at the guy in the falcon(?) who didnt get back on the track in a safer manner.

What's the old iron tour? At any rate, those cars are not only racing door to door, but pretty much all out and hard. You wouldn't see a pointless wreck like that at the Monterey Historics (though crashes can happen.) Track days have risk, but not nearly as much with the usual set of passing rules. I'd worry about just getting started doing something on track rather than what you think you might never do anyway.

That was a big hit. Glad to see he was moving around in the car. I am sure he felt that one for a few days.

I'd be angry at two people. lol. The falcon?(red 4dr) that didnt get back on the track safely, and then the valiant charger that did the same when he swerved to avoid the falcon.

I think the Valiant was a victim of circumstance. He made the correct evasive maneuver to avoid the potential contact he could see with the Falcon and then made a great save to recover from it. There is no way he could have possibly seen or planned for the Mustang coming through. Once back under control he was in a position that there was no way the either driver was going to avoid contact.

The mistake was made by the Falcon for sure, the rest of what happened is just racing circumstance and once again proof that your wreck may not have had anything to do with you when it started.

It is yahoo's like the selfish dude trying to get back on track, that will trigger an event like what happened..

My personal choice on do I risk a Falcon or a Valiant, or a T/A trying to get back on track , and causing a wreck...

This is an all out race, not a track day. these guys race for the checked flag, so it can't be compared to a track day.

That selfish dude is racing in the most prestiges race of the season, at a track that is the wholly grail of racing in Australia. I would love to see other people put under the pressures these race drivers are and see how it all turned out. Was it a bad choice by the Falcon? Yeah, but as I said the stakes are high, it's a race, rubbing is racing.

My bad to confuse the two... Full out racing is a place where anything can happen, and when there is a checked flag, ......I think we would all be a little selfish...
You are right..in the heat of the moment,anything can happen......Not like a track day.....

That track would be hell driving solo at those speeds, let alone with a bunch of other racers. My double Bad..
