I'm about ready to order wheels and tires for my Firebird. I'm looking to spend between 3000-4000 for the wheel and tire combo.
I know I don't want anything larger than an 18" wheel. The question is which setup will be best for performance as well as looks.
Option 1: 17" at all 4 corners
Option 2: 17" front, 18" rear
Option 3: 18" at all 4 corners
I know they are around but I've never seen a first gen with a 17/18 combo.
I will likely run an 8.5" with a 245 section width in the front. What aspect ratio should I run?
I will run a 275 section width on a 9.5" wheel in the rear (not mini-tubed), again what aspect ratio? Can I run a larger section width?
The wheels and tires will need to tuck inside the wheel wells. I'm lowering the car enough that this will be necessary.
Car has stock drums in the back but will likely change to rear disks later on depending on how often I use the car for on-track events.
