      Anybody DD'ing Toyo R888's?

Toying with the idea of running the r888 tires on my new wheels. Car sees about 95% tame street driving with the occasional trip to the strip and possibly more Solo events. The car doesn't go out in the rain unless I happen to get caught in it. I primary drive the car back and forth to work and to car events. I love to look of the tire but I'm wondering if I should run the Falken615 street tire instead. Tire life really doesn't concern me much as the car sees about 3K miles a year. I thought the sticky toyos would help with the traction problem I have when the boost kicks in. I run 295 Toyo T1R's right now and can light them up on command. If I could get 2-3 summers out of the r888's I'd be happy. New tires will be a 315 on an 11" wheel. Anybody out there running the tires on the street much?

Two track days have taken half the life on mine... but Steve Rupp runs R888s on Penny. Says it's not a problem.

I think that guy has a set of wheels & tires for every day of the month though, he doesn't count. ;)

I've got the RA1s on my viper but it doesn't rain in Texas.

If I were planning to run R-comps on the street, I think I'd go with the Kumho V700 rather than the Toyo R888. I've never heard anything good about the R888... no first-hand experience though.

Well... you can't say that any more: I dig mine. Sticky on the track with an easily felt threshold, lighter than ZP tires on my Z06, and not too noisy on the street.
