      G-Body Brake Upgrade Question....

Ok...I need a little help. I have decided to build a pro-touring car out of a Buick Regal. My plans are to add a Twin Turbo LS1. My question, I'm trying to find the best front brake upgrade for a G-Body. The only setup that I have found would be using...

      1. Hotchkis Tubular A-Arms
      2. 70-76 GM F-Body Spindles
      3. 1990 B-Body Master Cylinder
      4. Power Stop Brake Rotors

Now I know that this will give me a 12-inch conversion, but will this be enough with this kind of power? I will be using a 17-inch Kinesis wheel combo.
Does anyone know of a better brake upgrade?.....the one thing that I do like about this setup is that I can find some parts at my local junkyard....and I'm a big Do-it-yourself person.

      Thanks for you help......Bryan

I think your best bang for your buck wiould be to go with a B-body swap. I did mine with control arms and all for about 450? Its been a while since I did it. Goto www.montecarloss.com and search the brake forum. There is oddles of info there on that site. This topic has been beaten to death there.

      go to www.scandc.com
check out the g5 suspension, best setup out there for the g-body IMO. plus you get to run BIG C5 brakes up front.
Tough guys may wear pink, but Bad Asses still wear black.

After researching montecarloss.com I have decided to go with the ZQ8 spindle and the C4 Heavy Duty or C5 rotor. Again....thank you for the help.

Originally I was going to go the B body spidle route with C5 brakes. But with the amount of machining that needed to be done to the spindle & the rotor to make a hub I decided against it. I decided to go the ZQ8 spindle route. With it I will only have to make a bracket to mount to the spindle that the caliper bracket will bolt to. The ZQ8 setup uses a slip on rotor style, so the Vette C5 13" caliper slips on just the same. Also the ZQ8 spindle is the same geometry as the factory Monte spindle, except it looks like the steering arm is a little shorter, which means it will have a quicker ratio. I bought the knuckle assemblies on Ebay for $350. Parts new from the dealer come to just over $700 for each side for the spindle, and the hub assy. People have told me to use the factory Monte master cylinder. I currently have a large B car master & dual diaphram booster. I'll have to see which one works better. I can't wait.
