View Full Version : Another 67 wheel/tire question....how to get the tucked look without mini-tubs.

I want to achieve that tucked look on my 1967 camaro. I have a TCI front subframe/suspension and the rear 4 link. Does anyone have an idea of tire/wheel size that I can run to get that look. Want to get the widest tire I can on it without rubbing.

Car is still in the build stage, so rolling fender lips are a possibility.

Thanks,
D

Thanks for the reply Frank....so If I went with a 9.5 inch rear with say a 275/35/18, do you think I can get the tuck without rubbing?

Easy, or a 275 / 40 / 18 if you want a taller tire.

275 is about it on a 67, and even at that it won't really be 'tucked' due to the full wheel well opening style of the quarters

Danica's Camaro was mini tubed. We built the wheels for her car. The sizes on her car are 19x8 front and 20x10 rear. You can see more images of her car on our website at

You can get a really similar look on your car buy using the correct offset.

shorten your rear end 2-3" then have wheels made with that extra 2-3" to the lips, so basically you will have a 5-6" when you normally would have had a 3". makes a world of difference in my opinion.

My all time favorite wheels too ! I agree, I REALLY liked the way Danica looked, her car too ! :smoke: I finally bit the bullet and got a set thanks to Zak's help. I got the "Pro-Touring" model and mine have the polished lip with charcoal powder coated centers, similar to what 69blkwhss asked about. Here's a pic so you can see that look. Call Zak, he can help you alot with measurement & fitments.
