Finally in the car, took me a while but nothing better than to see it in the car. I used the LS wsap package from Muscle Rods, included hedders, motor mounts, tranny mount + crossmember and gaskets. It went in pretty easy.

Thnx guys, just received my intake this week and took some trial installation pictures of how the car intake does not work on the truck setup, I should be receiving my Kwik relocation brackets soon. You can see how the TB is so damn close to the waterpump neck, I was crossing my fingers when I went to put it on. You can also notice the TB bolt hole wont line up because the Alt. bracket is in the way.

I also installed the transmission crossmember, for whatever reason the bolt holes on the crossmember did not lign up with the sub-frame holes. It looked like I would have to drill another hole towards the rear of the frame?? but the hole would have ended up too close to the edge, instead I cut off the mounting plates and made my own. I still dont understand why they did not line up....

Looks great! Really like what you have done with the hood corners.
But I'm a little confused. Thread title says, "SSTB LS2 into 67 Camaro" but this is clearly a 69. Am I missing something?
Is that Muscle Rods from OKC? How do their mounts position the motor? I'm looking to install an LQ9 in my 69 and need to locate the flywheel in its original location.

It is a 67 Camaro, I did a few body mods as you can see I tried not to make them so noticable. The front and rear bumpers are off a 69 Camaro, so are the tail lights and the front grille. I also ditched the vent windows and replaced them with 69 glass and internals. Shaved everything off and changed the hood cowl a bit.
brphotrods.com, I bought the kit through summit racing since I have an account there. Im not sure what it would take to locate the flywheel where you want it but this kit puts the engine forward a bit and leaves me with about 8" clear from the WP pulley to the core support. If you are using a 700R4 or 350 tranny there is a spacer for the flywheel you can use and will require longer bolts if thats what youre looking for....

Thanx, the grille was kinda tricky, the 69 Camaro body is about 2" wider overall at the nose so I had to section the grille and bond it back together. I will have to get a custom billet grille made to fit it but that will come later. I finally got the engine to fit so now im feeling more confident on getting back to finishing my body work and begin my custom dash and center console. Will post more pics as soon as I figure out how to change the pixel settings on my images??? I used a different camera.

49719497184971749716Well, I got rid of the front air bags and installed a set of shockwaves, the air bag did not allow me to install shocks in the front. Frenching-in shocks into the frame was an option but not for me. I had to modify my lower control arms shock mounting points so that I would be able to lower the car as much as possible. Front control arms have so much work into them, I could of just bought tubular control arms but since I had about 1 1/2" sectioned out of them, top and bottom I realized tubing would be harder to reinforce. finally I got it done, I did not fee comfortable driving on just air bags.
I also started working on my center console and interior mods since im changing the outside im also changing the inside. will post more pics as I continue progress.:fingersx:

Correct me if im wrong... But I'm thinking that crossmember is backwards
Charles

Yes, Its in backwards on the 1st picture where its not bolted yet as an example of how the bolt hole to the subframe ligned up but not with the transmount bolt, if I put it in the correct way none of the bolt holes would line up. Weird? The bolt holes were too close together to begin with, not sure if they sent me the crossmember for a different car, I bought the swap kit as a package for a 67???? The 2nd picture shows it installed the correct way and bolted in place. Oh well, I made it work with the new ends I welded on, this was my only problem with the package so I cant complin too much. Thanks.

here's the grill trim I also had to modify to fit, still have to get it back to one piece though. It looks much better with it in place.

Thats strange about the crossmember...I have installed a few and never had an issue. What engine/trans did your car come with?
Charles
12-05-2011, 12:36 PM
My Camaro came with a 350 SBC and 350 trans, but its osriginal engine was a 327 and powerglide tranny. The LS came out of a 07 SS Trailblazer 6.0 w/ 4L60E... Dont know why it didnt work, oh well, it works now.

Well I have not posted anything up since Christmas last year, Ive been so busy with work so here is the latest on my build.
Keeping it short, like I said, been too busy to get into detail
Started the body work from the rear to the front
Most of the interior fiberglassing and console sheetmetal work is done
Added fog/running lights to the bottom valance
Modified and installed the vintage air evaporator under the dash
Installed the corvette intake manifold
Added rear view mirrors
Power windows
In-tank fuel pump and sending unit
Just got wiring harness back so Ill mock that up next
And thats about as far as I have gotten, a bit of progress but not as much as I had hoped for.
Here are some progress pics, tried to get them in order but im in a rush. Sorry.
Looking good. You have a great vision..

I know this thread is pretty old, but I just found it and I have to say the body mods look awesome! I'm just down the road in TO, and would love to see it someday.
