View Full Version : A 275 and 315 call out

Sorry to beat this thing to death. I'm shooting for 315-40-17's out back on the wagon, I could go with the less expensive and less modification for 275's, but I want the wider for looks and to really stand out. Plus not sure if anyone's even stuffed 'em under a g-body wagon yet. I will be driving the car almost daily and autocrossing every month so it will be used so not totally just for looks.
I'd like to really compare the difference, so I'm wondering if those that have 275- or 285-40 17 and those that have 315-40 17 if you could post some photos (or links) so I can see 'em on the cars? Please also let me know what width wheel you have. This is not limited to g-bodies, let's see 'em all.
Thanks!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply Sean. That is a pretty bad ride. Wonder what it'd look like with 335-30-18's :)

Nice car !!! the second picture is sweet !!!!!
Thanks, it used to be my dad's with the wheels and blower, then he sold it to a friend then it got brakes and hood/spoiler, then he sold it and now it belongs to our friend in TN who just enjoys it. It's a blast to drive and is very torquey.
That second pic is from one of the Power Tours.

Here's my G Body. 285/40-17 on 10"wide and 315/35 on 11". GNX flares with lots of inner fender trimming and even some outer fender trimming on the rear. Today I would notch the frame rails in the rear with mini tubs and use 335/35 on 12-12.5".4847148472

What is the backspacing or offset of these wheels?
Biodds

The backspacing is 4 7/8". You could probably just round it up to 5"
