Yep, you can get them. We loan them out to customers all the time.....see if there is a dealer in your area that has them and if they will rent/loan them out.

Vintage Air has an extensive dealer network and it can be found here http://www.vintageair.com/dealers_zip.asp

Just checked your profile, if you are putting it in a 71 chevelle just use a sure fit. they work quite well.

No they don't make a mock up for the sure fit kits. The gen IV magnum is the same basic unit but the plenums are different from model to model. if your firewall is stock and nothing else has changed it will be damn near a bolt in....I think you need to drill a couple of holes at most.

If you have a smooth firewall and other mods I would save your pennies and buy the unit as you may have to "modify" a few thing in order for it to work.

That's fine you will just need a modified hose kit (longer in length) and you can run it the the fresh air intake in the cowl and then hid the hoses in the inner fender. they will come out right where the battery is (was?) then. You will just need a couple of mounting holes for unit itself.
There are some pictures here of a '70 we did last spring. http://frameupwheelworks.smugmug.com...06862869_4iFsa Not the super cleanest install, more like factory. What looks like heater hoses on the inner fender is actually the wiring harness for the Erod LS3. I hope this helps....

Actually the Gen IV 68-72 A Body kit already includes the hidden hose kit. The system is designed to use 2 of the original holes in the firewall for the old heater box cover or A/C evaporator cover. Most people weld studs to the firewall before their bondo work.

The Mock up unit will not help you as it will only include universal brackets for NON Sure Fit installation. You would need the Specific brackets for your kit.

The kit is designed for studs coming out of the unit to go through existing holes in the firewall you closed off. You will have to bolt the bracket to the unit where those studs go with some shallow head bolts like button head allen, and then drill a couple holes in the mounting plate that will line up with studs you weld on the firewall

      Look on page 11 here

      http://www.vintageair.com/GenIV%20sy...ellewac%20.pdf

If you really tight on funds but want to get this part handled, we can get you the dash kit only and finish the rest of the kit later. Or I could get you some measurements off a car in our shop and tell you where to weld studs. It is a broad area where anything within 3" circle for each stud would be close enough.

If I'm not stepping on Franks toes here....http://www.vintageair.com/catalog10/...Page%2041).pdf

the dash kit is the evaporator kit....basically everything inside the car, no hoses, compresor, condenser, drier, etc. This is how we usually buy them as it leaves us open to do whatever we want with those other parts. You are not saving any money by doing it this way but you don't have to buy parts you don't need right now.

K one last question I just read the instructions for the instal and want to make sure I got it right.
There is a bracket for the front of evap box that gets bolted to the factory dash/cowl support bracket and a bracket for rear of evap box and there are only two bolts needed to support it to firewall?
If thats all I will need im good because I finished the firewall but not the inside of the cabin so I can see the holes I welded up and just drill next to them from the inside out to engine compartment and I will be real close.

Exactly. Just make a couple studs right beside those holes and you will be golden
