Help Needed - brain fart - ordering wheels

I'm trying to wrap my mind around this problem, and the car isn't here to measure.

I need to order rear wheels and drag radials for an upcoming track day. These will be track only and used only on occasion so I'm trying to keep the budget reasonable.

Right now I have 18x10, 5.50" backspaced wheels with 275/35/18 BFG KDW's. I have a mini-mini tub and have about +or- 1/2" of room on the inside and out.

By my estimate, and what's available from Summit, their 17x9, 6" backspaced wheels with MT drag radial 275/40/17 should fit. But like the title says, I'm just not able to picture and car isn't here to measure. Based on what I've explained, do you think these will fit???

they will not fit given you have 5.5 BS and 1/2" room. Back space is back space no matter what the width...You would need 5-5.50 BS.

You can go out due to the 9" wide rim. I'd go 5" that will give you room on the inner edge. shoot for 1" in and 1/2" out.

I actually think I have about an inch or slightly more on the inside with the 18x10's, but dammit, I think you're right and they won't fit. I have 1/4" spacers I could try, but still might be tight on the inside.

So do you know where I could get a set of 17x9,9.5, or 10 wheels with 5-5.5" BS for under $200 each?

curious but was your rear end narrowed?

Yes. I have the dimensions somewhere. I have the DSE mini-tubs but didn't cut the frame and re-box since its a vert and didn't want to open a can of worms with strutural rigidity and interferance with the top. I should have enough room for a 295 or possibly 305 street tire when I kill the BFG's.
