I recently purchased a set of wheels and I was wondering how well a rear wheel should "fill" the rear wheel well. I have 3/8" of space between the face of the wheel and my fender and 2" of space from the rear of the wheel to my frame. I am planning on narrowing the rear end, after which I will have 1 3/16" room on each side of the wheel. I am wondering how well other member's rear wheels fit?

I like to keep the tire as close to the outer lip as is feasible. Looks "better" IMO. I set my truck up with a very close fitment to the rear tire face and have had no issues with rubbing or touching. I did go to full poly bushings in the leafs so there is very little compliance from those.

I think there is about 1/4 to 3/8th inch to the tire. Of course there is some major trimming of the inner lip going on here to get that look... :)
One thing I did with the van housing was building it a 1/2" narrower then what the calculations called for. IF I need to go wider to get the tires where I want them a 1/4" spacer under each rim will not hurt a thing.
