I have purchased DSE upper and lower control arms for my 67 Camaro. I worked on it last night and pulled off the stock upper and lower control arms. On the upper arms, there was shims between the upper cross shaft and the frame mount. These were from the last time it was aligned.

When I put on the new arms, do I reinstall the same shims or do I leave no shims? Will installing the old shims with the new arms get the alignment in the ballpark, where it was before? It will be a loooong time before I will need to have the car aligned.

Hi mike, just put the old shims back in, that way its easy to push around. Any pictures yet?

I put the same shims back in so I could drive to get an alignment. In my case, I lowered the car too so I had to fudge things a bit to get the top of the tire tucked in enough.

Thanks Vince and Rick, that is what I thought just wanted to make sure.

Vince, Just have everything off one side right now. If everything goes right tonight, then I can get the new arms on and hopefully the brakes, for that one side. We'll see. I'll finish the other side this weekend and I'll take pictures then.
