Im sure this has been covered.. sorry in advance, but...

I want to run a 275/40-17 on a 9.5" wheel up front. I have plenty of room.

Is this beneficial? What are the pros and cons? Thanks!

One pro is greater gripping/cornering power. A couple of minuses are increased moment of inertia (MOI) and the tendency for your car to pull over road irregularities. Lots depends on what you plan to do with the car and whether you mind the trade offs. I'll be running 275/35/18s on the front for now.....and maybe 295's later.

I am running 275/40-18's all around on my wagon and it handles great. But my rear wheel wells are so big the 275's look small, so I am hoping to do something about it.
