      Ford 9 inch disc brakes

I am looking at a 9" rear for my fathers '55 Chevy and was wondering what disc brake options there are.

The current brakes are terrible (GM single piston/10" rotors up front and stock rear drums). So Ive been nudging him to get a C5 setup up front, and now that he is getting this new rear, maybe an LS1 setup for the back? Id like to be able to get the parking brake to work with not too much modification as well. He has 18" (Coys C5) wheels, so clearance shouldnt be much issue either
I think he will be getting the big bearing style rear, and the axles will be drilled for the 5x4.75 bolt pattern. Other than that, I dont know much about the rear.

What disc setup would you recommend to go with a C5 front?

I would go with C5/C6 Corvette front and rear setup with the drum style park brake. I see used C5/C6 brake sets on ebay all the time. Aparently the Corvette guys are taking off their stock brakes and up grading to 14" aftermarket brakes. They put their used brakes on ebay for pretty reasonable prices. Go to ebay and search for "Corvette C6 brakes".

That Kore3 kit is perfect, but a little rich for my blood. And I was planning on sourcing most of the parts myself anyway. Ive been looking at LS1 rear brake assemblies on ebay and craigslist, and it seems like you can get them pretty cheap.
So my question is: Can I have a GM style tube end welded onto a 9 inch rear, and have the LS1 rear brakes bolt up?
