Thanks sam..I did copy yours, except I made the bird out of mdf and made it recessed. I heard someone say that copying is a form of flattery. I couldnt have done it without the inspiration and pics from your build!! And the material is black marine vinyl, which i purchased from joanne fabric and I used a spray contact cement to attach to the mdf.. I also made a remote control electric trunk with a key fob...its was so easy. Put your electric trunk latch in and wire it to a remote control unit. make sure it is a single button with a momentary on off control so it turn on and off with one push of the button. I learned the hard way and first used a remote with a two button on and off remote..well I forgot to hit the off button after I opened the trunk and burnt my 179.00 modo electric latch. I was able to save it by attaching and external door lock actuator..works great. These remote kits can power anything that has 12 volts to it. Lights etc.
